Harsh Mistress
"Corey Williams, warehouse worker that will someday be performing in
front of sold-out stadiums entertaining his fans. Fame, fortune and an endless
parade of women - All this comes with a price, a price he's not ready for."
Corey comes across the guitar of one late Bobby McCanes, a rock star that died
very young. He purchases this instrument, it brings out the talent that he hoped
he had because prior to the guitar, he couldn't sing a lick. "You
suck," a friend tells him and Corey says that when the time comes:
"I'll be good."
The guitar gives him the talent, but it requires one thing. Corey doesn't
realize this until it is too late and even then, he is consumed by the success
that this guitar gives to him. What the guitar gives, it always takes. "There
you have it: Not a long ride, but a weird one. Lived fast and died young.
Warning: Make sure you have the talent to back up your dreams - ask Corey, he's
on tour in the Twilight Zone." Roger's rating: A-
