Chosen

"A sales pitch. Is he chosen? Vince will find the answer in the Twilight Zone whether he wants to or not."

Vince has problems. He's lost his job, bills are out of control and his girlfriend is not his girl at this time. Vince is a loser, a decent one, but a loser. In the news, the superpowers are on the verge of a confrontation, a calamity. Two people, dressed in black, show at this front door and invite him to join them, they have a video for him and the video knows a bit too much about his life and he sends them away. He visits his friend Doyle, a surely S.O.B. and they talk about the mysterious visitors. Doyle received a video too. "We are here to help you," they say. Doyle thinks they are aliens.

Lea was not kind to him the first time around and when they meet again, Vince is concerned for her safety: A government investigator is checking out these strange visitors and Doyle disappeared in a flash of light. It's too late, Lea is speaking up for those two visitors and she tries to persuade Vince to join too. Too many people are missing and the global satellite network has failed, all hell is breaking loose. They come back to his house, Lea and Doyle with them. Vince defends himself, shoots one and they leave, very sad. There is flash of light and they all seem to vanish, the energy takes the form of wings on each. In the distance, a flash of light . . . "In a world about to end, Vince, the perpetual loser made the wrong call." Roger's rating: B+
