Synopsis: The Romulans desire to eliminate the Federation by the now very-famous and over-utilized mode in the Star Trek universe: go back in time to eliminate your foe. The caveat here is that J.J. Abrams is endeavoring to get around the "re-imagining" by actually creating an alternate timeline which would be something that would legitimize (in the Star Trek universe) the story being told here. Warner Brothers is behind this confirmation as they are unhappy with the fact the J.J. Abrams has not been producing for the studio. While we expected this to be breaking news, it is in fact a well-regarded rumor now and is only now being confirmed by studio insiders.
Yet another time travel story?
