Will Yankees get beat by Angels in Johnson sweepstakes?

By Roger D. Noriega

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that a three-team trade is in the works. The Yankees are not included in this one. The details are as such: Jose Guillen would go to the Marlins, Pitcher Randy Johnson (The Big Unit) to Anaheim (Sorry Arte, the team name is Anaheim and there is a contract that supports this) and Arizona would receive a package of prospects and possibly a big league player. Florida wants Jose Guillen, but Florida was unwilling to part with speedy Juan Pierre.

The Times further states that a deal probably won't happen until the Angels of Anaheim sign a centerfielder first, notably some kid by the name of Carlos Beltran. Mr. Beltran is the player on the market and he will set the contracts this year. The Yankees want him, but so do a few other teams. We shall see what will happen.
