The forty-year old mining
facility built to extract the vital and precious ores from the planet
Bajor. Upon the cessation of hostilities, the Cardassians abandoned the
outpost and the Federation and Bajor occupied it. It served as beacon to
the Bajorans as an evil that has been overcome - what was the enemies is
now theirs and later, the old facility becomes key to the very survival of
Bajor and to the entire Alpha Quadrant.
