Part of the Punjab region of northwestern India was then annexed by the British December 6, 1492 - The island of Hispaniola was discovered by Christopher Columbus. Today the island is divided between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Also, in 1991, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country premiered across North America.
