Again,
Let me start off by stating for the record that I have never been a Star
Trek fan, know absolutely nothing about who a Klingon is or an Andorian or how
they are supposed to stereotypically behave, act, and speak, BUT… I have
agreed to review a few of these fan-fiction scripts.
A man named Joshua Maley wrote this particular episode and all I can
think of telling him is “good job”. For
what it’s worth, I became attached to the characters in the storyline.
Mr. Maley did an excellent job of bringing these characters to life and
inspiring the audience to empathize. This
episode mainly follows Commander Bruce Andrade through an emotional roller
coaster dealing with his faith in the Federation, or lack thereof.
Throughout this episode we see Captain Sito’s utter distaste, distrust,
and general disapproval of Commander Andrade.
The audience is rewarded with a small confrontation, helping us sense how
desperate Andrade has become in his search for someone to believe in him.
I have thought it over carefully and have decided not to spoil the
episode for you by giving away it’s twists and turns, but I feel I must
comment on the fact that characters are shaped and defined in this episode.
This could mean several different things, but let me remind you that a
man finds out exactly who he is only when he has been tested in the most extreme
of emergencies, life and death.
This episode has drama written all over it and I am sure that the
audience will be waiting for the next episode.
Joshua Maley, you have done an excellent job and I look forward to
reading many more of your scripts.
