Hello
Again,
I recently made a discovery while
visiting my local Walden bookstore. To
my surprise, I found that they are now stacking Cliff’s Notes next to the
timeless novels that have found their way into our hearts and memories. Now, I tend to be very reserved most of the
time…but this…well…IT PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, c’mon now. It’s one thing to tell the high school
students to read the book, do their own work and not to plagiarize, but
seriously, do we really believe that not only they can’t abide by those rules,
but that they can’t even find the freaking Cliff’s Notes on their own! Do we HAVE to shelve them next to the
book? I can’t stand Cliff’s Notes. It’s supposed to be used as a study guide,
but whom are we fooling? It’s a yellow
cheating guide for the lazy senior.
When I entered the store I thought I was going crazy. The shelves were flooded by yellow and
black! It was very depressing. So I send out a desperate plea to every
person out there that has considered picking up the damned things from the
shelves:
READ THE REAL
BOOK!!!
Whew. On a different note, life is well here. My friends just got back from New York,
performing for the “United in Memory” 9/11 memorial quilt display. I heard it was a great concert; wish I
could’ve been there. The link to the
website can be found in my 9/11 article.
Anywho, the babysitting goes on, but my review on Star Trek: Frontiers
episode 1.06 will be coming soon. Be
sure to check that out by clicking on the big Frontiers banner. Not hard to miss, peoples. I also heard that there are quite a few
people actually reading my blog. Glad
to hear that. It’s nice to know that
some people actually care to read what I have to write. Feel free to email me with comments by clicking
on the Chinese character in the bottom right hand corner. It stands for Dream! (Me) lol well, take
care peoples and I hope to hear from you.
